Theory: ESP, Girls, and Pregnancy (or: The birds, the bees, and the brains)
The last note stated that Maddison should be tested for ESP (possibly extra sensory perception). Also, we know they were testing her CSF.
It is possible that, if ESP exists, the biological triggers may be carried within the CSF (I am trying to be very simple here...the medical explanation is a bit longer. Hope this will suffice for now).
We also note that there are three girls are pregnant. Why? Here is a loose theory.
Think this way: Right now they may be draining the CSF fluid in order to transplant it into a person to see if they can gain the ability. Right now, to get CSF fluid, they have to kidnap 'gifted' girls. If these girls can be impregnated...and it is a dominate trait to the female offspring...then their female children would have the trait. Nobody would know about these children (born off grid), and they could have a perpetual harvest to gain CSF fluid to gain ESP. If they can Isolate the biological marker or trigger for inherited ESP and are able to retrofit it into a persons DNA (much like a retrovirus such as HIV can be), it may be possible to grant an individual ESP in this method.
If they drain the CSF, and the ability exists in that matrix...then draining them for the fluid is more beneficial than the actual person who may not agree with how you want them to use it . It can be used by a willing participant in you cause(s).

I believe ESP was in capital letters... Especially is typically abreviated in lower case...as I said...it is still theory.

The good thing about ESP is that it gives a good reason to have two sets of girls, one set of lab victims, and another set separated by distance like Maddison used as test receivers to see if they have ESP.
It gives a good reason for the numbering- If one girl is implanted with spinal fluid from another (Which seems very fitting if not likely) then the girls form distinct pairs.
Maddison was feeling sick (not in the morning but... , since im speculating wildly anyway)...
There is also, slready, an established generation gap/ continuation, where Maddisons mother also had spinal tests.
Speculating further but within the realms of fantasy in which i clearly reside- Perhaps the danger to Maddison is the ethereal link to a girl/girls who will be executed? Maybe she will be killed by proxy?

Here is another thought:
We could test Maddison's ESP possibility by having her attempt a "Remote Viewing" program. As described in this website:

Also, later in that article, it talks about influencing biological actions through thought and ESP.
Yes, still a reach...but a thought. CIA studied it for years during cold war. It may be a good test for Maddison. See if she can locate Abby through ESP, and see if we can determine accuracy by using a GPS system.
