Maddison Atkins

A few messages are indicating that time is running out. We don't have all the information we need, and it looks like Abby doesn't either.

Adam and Maddison were in chat today, making it clear that Maddison wants to send another pigeon.

Now I think it's important to decide what we want this message to do for us or for Abby. A few things come into play with this.
- Has Abby been asking us for information?
- What does she need to know?
- What do we need to know (to help her or find her)?

I am planning on going through everything Abby has been saying to us. I suggest others can do the same. Let's try and figure out something that is both short and meaningful to Abby. Then we can ask a question for ourselves after that. "I tell you this! Can you tell me this?"
That seems like a way to help both parties out.

We have 4 birds left, let's use them the best way we can!

GO TEAM!

Just a reminder that Abby used the Porta code for the music cipher found in Tucson, giving references to that cipher being on the letter with the words "staff," "covering my rounds," and "my work is sketchy." (so we know it was she who wrote the music).

I'm more concerned about time than I am with perfection of the message. I think we need to trust Bright to do the best he can with all the comments to make any last minute tweaks when he gives the message to Maddison. On Friday in chat we set a deadline for this to happen by Saturday morning. My understanding on Saturday was that BrightSilence was waiting for a reply back from Maddison.

I'm not worried about the length of the message or asking too many questions at this point. This may be our last bird to ask anything on and have time to get a reply before the 60 day window closes. We may be able to send a 4th pigeon or 5th pigeon with info to Abby, but probably not with enough time for a reply back unless she risks telephoning Maddison directly or something unexpected like that.

We have to assume that Abby set up this method of communication via pigeon because it is reasonably secure. Porta coding adds to the security should it be intercepted, since it would be hard to guess. Morse is insecure, Vigenere is pretty good although communicating a key is a bit problematic, Bacon is too long, and Invisible Ink is not practical for this message.

The question "What danger is your fav in?" (or equivalent) might be removed if Maddison says she asked this already on pigeon #2.

In Episode 28, upon reading the uncovered letter from NY, Maddison was asking the same question that Clementine asked "What fluid?"

Depending on the fluid that they are taking from these girls we should have a better idea of what condition they are in...and how much they can take before it becomes critical that we get them out of there...if that's what we're even supposed to to...and what may happen to Maddison if we don't get this figured out. As it is I can not seem to find anything on how long, if at all, it takes spinal fluid to regenerate...so it may really just be that you only have so much and these drainings would do some serious damage...if not kill these girls if this is what they are taking.

But Maddison and Adam are on their way to pick up a drop now...and somehow I missed them even getting this information

Firstly id like to agree with QtheC. Send a message.
Anything vaguely useful will be good. If we are too late its all irrelevant.

Secondly- Triangulate. This is easy, all you need is three pigeons sent from reasonably far apart (100s of miles) With send times and arrival times (Plus a map and a ruler and compass, and a reasonable estimate of speed of pigeon(get it from a pigeon club, they will be happy to help.)). This is so easy to do. The results will not be accurate but they will be useful. Maddison and Adam might be reluctant to transport the pigeons to internet people, but if they are willing then it is surely a sign that it is a good idea and necessary.

If we are running out of time then do this immediately.
NB for best results the distance from 1 pigeon to the next should not be the same as another 2, And the pigeons should not be released from places which form a straight line on a map.
